Preparing healing meals

Hi, I'm Sheri, the founder of The Recovery Recipe.

I believe nutrition is one of the most overlooked tools for supporting recovery and rebuilding long-term health.

Every meal is an opportunity to nourish the body, support the brain, restore the gut, reduce inflammation, and provide the nutrients our bodies need to heal. While food isn't a cure for addiction or illness, it can play an important role in helping us feel stronger, think more clearly, and build healthier habits over time.

My passion for this work grew from a fascination with the science of nutrition and the incredible ways our bodies recover when given the right support. That curiosity inspired me to study culinary arts and nutrition so I can combine evidence-based research with practical recipes and educational resources that anyone can use.

Whether you're recovering from one difficult weekend, taking your first steps toward sobriety, celebrating long-term sobriety, helping someone you love, or simply curious about the science of nutrition, this site was created for you.

Here you'll find more than recipes.

You'll find practical nutrition guides, evidence-based articles, meal plans, grocery inspiration, and approachable educational resources designed to help support recovery through better nutrition.

My goal isn't to promise quick fixes or miracle cures. Recovery is deeply personal, and healing looks different for everyone. I simply hope this website helps make one part of that journey a little easier by turning nutritional science into practical meals and everyday habits.

Every article is written with curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to evidence-based information. Every recipe is created with purpose—to nourish, comfort, and support the healing process.

Whether you're rebuilding your health, supporting someone you care about, or simply looking for healthier ways to live, I'm grateful you're here.

Welcome to The Recovery Recipe.

Let's build recovery—one meal at a time.

What I Believe

  • Food is powerful.

Nutrition may not solve every problem, but it can support the body's natural ability to heal, adapt, and recover.

  • Recovery deserves better nutrition.

Healthy eating should be a meaningful part of recovery, not an afterthought.

  • Science should be understandable.

Nutrition advice should be evidence-based, practical, and easy to apply in everyday life.

  • Everyone deserves a seat at the table.

Whether you're recovering from alcohol or drugs, supporting someone you love, or simply trying to build a healthier lifestyle, you're welcome here.
